My Tree Live Oak Tree

My Tree
Very Special Trees Is a tree, by virtue of the length of time under stress to
attain champion size, more likely to be stress tolerant?

"I would have to say yes because the tree has survived

the test of time and during that period of time it has had
to grow during stress periods."

Coastal Redwoods and Giant Sequoia Trees
A few Years ago, researchers discovered that the giant coastal redwoods can create rain by condensing heavy fog, enabling the life - saving water to reach their roots. Now research has revealed that the tallest trees in the world actually drink from the clouds that hover over the coast for much of the dry season. Essentially these tall giants have two ends that take in water -- the top and the bottom.... and may explain how they
achieve the giant heights. Cloud drinking is the key in enabling the mammoth trees to grow as high as 37 stories. Current research suggest that a tree's ability to siphon water from the roots to its canopy -- against gravity and friction -- is one of the most limiting factors in how tall trees are able to grow. Theory says you can't transport water that high. Yet trees do it all the time. Research continues to study this phenomenon further to
see how much water these 2000 year old trees absorb through their branches and needles. The closes estimate is.
It is a bunch !
